These Knives will be produced throughout October and November and ship as they are completed.

These Sloyd/Slojd Carvers are made of 52100 alloyed carbon steel. They are handled in your choice of Curly Maple, or Curly Birch. The maple has a tight curve, while the birch has more of broad marbled wave to it. Both are treated with house made iron acetate and black tea to “ebonize” them, then finished with pure tung oil.

These blades are profiled and ground to excel at detailed spoon carving. The 4” version is focused more towards the early rough out stages with a slightly lower/acute bevel angle for faster easier cutting. The 3” models is thinner and more delicate with a more obtuse edge angle for control and fine finishing. They are both ground “flat over hollow” which is maintained just like a tradiion flat scandi grind. The 4” is quite large, and as pictured the 3” is more moderately scaled in handle length and girth.

Birch bark sheaths are included.
